INTERNATIONAL LABOUR BUDGET
Australian Press Assn.—United Service (Received this day at 12.25 D.m.) GENEVA, Sept. 17. Sir Locker Lampson emphasised the International Labour Offices Budget of £21,120 as higher than last year. He proposed that consecutive instead of separate annual marine labour conferences should he held, thereby saving £IOBCj. Ho said: “Though I admire Mr Thomas’ dexterity, such a smoke screen of emotional words as the committee’s leaves me cold. Mr Thomas says the Finance Commission must not alter a single comma in his- estimate. If that is -so, it is a perfect farce and a waste, of hours discussing them. IVe may as well return to our families and leave Mr Thomas to spend as much as lie liked.” Gumbo said: “Coming from a cold •country, it seemed a pity to him to see such a waste of heat as Mr Thomas infused in his speeches.
