WHARF DISPUTE. SYDNEY, Sept. 17. •Allvough the Waterside Workers’ Conference at Melbourne on Saturday decided that the men should return to work, the men at Newcastle, Brisbane and Port Kemhla to-day refused to resume. They stated that they would not recognise the Becky Award. The wharf Jabourerk at Ereemantle have ignored the instruction from the Federation to resume work. The shipowners met to-day to discuss the position. They decided that work must ho resumed at all of the ports before the conference which the men asked for can he granted. As a result of the dislocation of oversea transport facilities, wool sales which should have commenced to-day have been postponed indefinitely.
