Wellington Trotting Club’s Spring Meeting was held to-day in fine weather. The track was heavy, after overnight rain. Captain Kingston! Smith and party received an enthusiastic reception. The tote handled .1125,859) against £29,180 last year. The results are as follow:
, Novice Handicap.—(2) Rollo 1, (14) Drjft Wave 2, (8) Insurance 3. Won by three lengths; one length between second and third. Time 3.3 1-5.
Petone Handicap.—(G) Young Carbine 1, (2) Louisiana 2, (4) Sarsaparilla 3. Won by two lengths; one length between second and third. Time 3.42 3-5.
Bollard Memorial Handicap.—(2) Pageant 1, (4) Jolly Chimes 2, (5) irate o’ Mine 3. Won by three-quarters of a length ; five lengths between second and third. Time 4.47 3-5. Borough Handicap.—(l) Travis Ax worthy 1, (4) Athalone 2, (2) Medusa 3. Won by a length; two lengths between second and third. Time 3.11 1-5. N.Z.
