MUHDEIt OF BOYS. Australian Press Assn.—United Service NEAV YORK, Sept. 15. A Los Angeles message states: Tho story of murders on a farm near Riverside, California, on. which four boys met their deaths, was told by a youthful prisoner. It is disclosed by tho police that the story had been verified by an inspection of graves on a small ranch, the owner of which is held on suspicion of murder.

At Nashville, Henry AVarnor, a farmer, is suing Floyd Hanson, an inventor, because Hanson’s vacuum cleaner, for chin-whiskers, went on the rampage . \ during a demonstration. This, mach- •. j, ine is designed to clean cement, dust . and grit from the hoards of workmen, and thus prevent razors from becoming dull too quickly Hanson was doing well until AVarner’s beard became entangled in the suction fan. Before Hanson could reduce the power a handful of whiskers and a couple of square inches of AVarner’s skin had disappeared up tho intake.
LORD LOVAT’S MISSION. VANCOUVER, Sept. 15. Speaking at the Canadian Club, Lord Lovat said that ho was going to Austrlia and Now Zealand to discuss the same land settlement scheme as ho had discussed across Canada. His duty was T to see how men could best lie placed. He believed that be would receive the same hearty co-operation in the Antipodes as he had had in Canada, for their real feeling for the Old Country stood for a good deal still.
