PARLIAMENT
(By Telegraph—Per Press Association) THE COUNCIL. • WELLINGTON, September 15. The Legislative Council met at 2.30 p.rn. yesterday. The Inspection of Machinery Bill was reported from the Labour Bills Committee with amendments. The Council dealt in committee with fourteen-local hills, which were passed. The Council adjourned at 3.30 p.m. until Wednesday next. THE HOUSE. The House of Representatives on meeting at 2.30 immediately went into Committee of Supply to further consider the estimates, when the following votes were agreed to—lndustries and commerce £31,650; Treasury £33 986 ; Land and Income Tax £62,258 ; Stamp Duties £917,158; Customs £118,573; Education £3.080,462 : Labour £60,295; National Provident £2,5 447; External Affairs £30,743; Native' Trust £13,541; Public Trust £242,593; Discharged Soldiers Settlement £40,000; Lands for Settlement Account £3,000. The House rose at 10.15 p.m. till 2.30 p.m. on Tuesday.
