EVERYBODYS PICTURES. “THE GILDED HIGHWAY - ” —TO-NIGHT. The story of “The Gilded Highway,” tho J. Stuart Bluckton production for Warner Bros., a Master picture, to he scrconcd to-night at tho Princess Theatre, concerns tho happy Wolby family, a middle class family, and the tragedy that wealth brought to them. Primrose, tho daughter (Dorothy Devore), is in love with young Hugo Blythe (Gardner James), and the son, Jack (John Harron), in love with Amabel (Andree Tourneur). Tho father (Mncklyn Arbuckle) and mother (Florence Turner) had lived in simple comfort, and their servant, Sarah (Mathilde Comont), is a faithful and loyal friend to the entire family. In the midst of their peaceful existence ; comes word that their Undo Nicholas (Sheldon Lewis), wealthy and ill. wishes to spend his last days witl them, and will leave his entire fortune to them. Grudgingly they take hill: in, and although they pay him scant attention, he keeps liis word, and hi. 1 death brings them an immense for tune. Their wealth brings out all tin smallness of their natures, and they rush into lavish expenditure, forgetting their old friends, and the children giving up their childhood sweethearts lu an extravagant charity hall, the.' prove ridiculous to their guests, and. at the height of the festivities, lean that their fortune is squandered. 11l ness and ■'mislfortune follow quickly, friends desert them, and the old people seek refuge in the poor-house. The faithful Sarah has meanwhile been running a "successful hoarding-house and conies to their aid. Jack marries the girl ho has always loved, and Primrose has learned the true worth, of Hugo. A topical, scenic and comedy will also he shown to-night. On Monday next Lon Chaney, the screen’s most gifted character player will he seen in “Mockery,” a remarkable story of adventure, peril and romance in the days of the Russian revolution.
