ADDINCTON STOCK SALE.
GHRiLSTOH UIICH, Sept. 13. f Fnt Cattle—The yarding of fat cattle was one of the smallest for a long time. It comprised only 372 head, compared with 481 last week. Prices per 1001 b. wore: —Choicest beef to 50s, average prime beef 41s Od to 4.65, medium quality 38s to 41s; plain heavy steer 33s to 38s Od, prime cows and heifers 43s to 43s Od, medium 37s to 40s, and rough down to 30s. Values were: liktra prime steers £2l to £23 12s Od, prime steers £l7 10s to £2O, mediumweight steer's £ls 15s to £l7, ordinary steers £l2 12s Od to £ls, extra prime heifers to £l9 7s 6d, prime heifers £l3 to £ls ss, ordinary heifers £lO to £l2 10s, light heifers £0 5s to £9, extra prime cows to £lB 12s Od, prime cows £1.2 10s to £ls 10s, medium cows £9 to £l2, aged and inferior cows £5 17s Od to £B. Vealers—-There was a very small entry of vealers. Many wei'c too young nhd small for butchers’ purposes. Killable sorts sold well at an advance on late rates. Values were Twelve to eighteen months sorts to £lO 9s Od, good vealers £0 10s to £8 15s, medium vealers £3 5s to £5 15s, small calves 20s to £2 10s.
Store Cattle—The offering of store cattle was a very small one. It'consisted mainly of cows with only a few pens of steel's, heifers and bulls. Prices were bn a. par with late rates, values were:—Best cows £4 15s to £0 11s, medium £3 5s to £4 Ids, inferior 20s ■to £2 15s, bg fouir-year-b'ld steers £l4 ss, yearlng steers £4 13s Od, bulls £4 Is to £4 13s Od.
Dairy cattle—Largo yarding of dairy cattle, totalling 94 head. The ..uis tin: offering was of inferior quality am. was hard to dispose of. There was a good demand for the best sorts, which sold on it par with last week’s rates. The rest'were a little easier. Values were: Post second, third, and fourth culvers, £8 to £ll, medium sorts £0 tc £7 15s, inferior Sorts £3 to £5 13s, best noifors £6 to £8 10s, inferior heifers £3 to £5.
Fat sheep Values were: Extra prime wethers to s‘2s 9d, prime heavy wethers 43s to 48s, jirime mediumweight wethers 37s 6d to 425, medium wethers 33s to 365, shorn wethers •28s Cd to 335, show ewes 47s lOd to 48s 7d, extra, prime ewes to 45s 7d, prime ewes 35s to 40s medium ewes 29s to 33s Od, aged and inferior ewes 24s 7d to 28s.
Spring lambs—The entry of spring lambs totalled 13 bead. The quality was bettor than was the case last week, and tile lambs sold under keener competition, most of them making over 40s a head. Prices ranged from 36s to 45 Od.
Store. sheep—. Best four, six and ciglit-tooth hnlfbred owes 3Gs to 335, ordinary four, six and qight-tooth half-bl-ed ewes to 31s, backward halfhred ewes to 76s Gd, extra good halfhred wethers 33: to 355, good halfhred wethers 31s to 32s Gd, backward lialfurod wethers to 265, shorn wethers to 23s 3d, extra good halfhred ewe hogets to 35s 9d, extra good tlircc-quartcr-bred ewe hoggets 33s to 355, ordinary halfhred wether hoggets to 25s 6d, ordinary three-quarterbred wether hoggets 26s to 27s Gd. Fat pigs—The yarding of fat pigs was of small size. Tile demand was keen and prices improved considerably for all classes. Values were:—Choppers £3 10s to £5 16s, light bneoners- £3 12s to £4 os, heavy bneoners £4 10s to £5 4s Bd, average price per lb. 7d to 7i'd. Light porkers 38s to 475, heavy ponters 50s to 37s Cd, extra heavy porkers to £3 7s Gd, average price per lb. 73d to 9d.
Store pigs—'There was a large entry of store pigs, all classes being well represented. There was a- good enquiry, and values were firm at late rates. Values were: AVeaners 10s to His, small stores 16s to 225, medium stores 24s to 32s Gd, large stores' to 375.
