Aflliot arrived at Croydon from Karachi in a Fokker monoplane having covered 5600 miles in four and a half days. Tho final stages from ■Sofia to Croydon, a distance of 1400 miles was a non-stop flight. It is tho fastest India to England flight, and compares with Mr Bert Hinkler’s England to India flight of seven days. LONDON, September 7.
Captain Barnard made only four landings. He started tor Karachi on Sunday morning and reached Bush ire where lie took off on Monday, with the intention of proceeding to Aleppo, but lie was delayed by head winds and had to land in' the desert. H© reached Aleppo on Tuesday, Sofia on 'Wednesday and flew to Croydon on Thursday in fifteen hours.
SPIRITUALISTIC. LONDON, September 10. Under Royal Air Force official observation, a heavily: laden motor lorry travelled from London to Beaconsfiekl and hack, a journey of fifty miles using a new German motor engine with non-in-flammable crude oil instead of petrol, which is claimed to revolutionise motor transport. AUSTRALIAN CRIUSER. LONDON, Sep. 10. The cruiser Canberra is sailing from Invorgordon on sth October to join the British Atlantic Fleet in tho Channel.
