HOKITIKA SCHOOL COMMITTEE.

MONDAY, SEI’T. 10th

The Committee met at 7 p.m. Present! Messrs A. C. Armstrong (Chairman), W. H. Shannon, W. E. Richards, H. Sweney, R. Pedder, *T. Conning and Mcsdamcs Perry and Wilson. INWARD CORRESPONDENCE. From Canterbury Board approving ot repairs to cookery rooms and forwarding £5 towards furnishing the teacher’s rooms.—Received.

From Miss Lynn resigning position as assistant in secondary school.—Received with regret, members appreciating the work of the teacher. Accounts as presented were passed for payment.

The Visiting Committee (Messrs Pedder and Caulson) reported few requirements.—Received and approved. Tlio Chairman reported the Board’s foreman, had reported favourably ,on new conveniences and furniture for teacher’s rooms. r

It was resolved to enquire from the Board as to insurance of employees. The Hector (Mr E. Partridge) reported the attendance was satisfactory, during the month parties of scholars from Ashburton and Tteefton had visited Hokitika and were suitably entertained. A return visit will he made to Ashburton during the present month. —Received. Mrs Wilson and Mr Conning were appointed visitors for tho month. The meeting then terminated.
