Doeg defeated Landry 4—6, 6—4, Hunter defeated Reno Dobuzelet 6—4, 2—6, 9—7. DAVIS CUP PROSPECTS. PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 8. Attending the Franco-American team matches on Friday, William Johnson declared it may be five or six years boford the United States can win back tho Davis Cup. Ho was much impressed with Cochot’s . play. He added: — “There wero none on the courts who could oome up to the standard of Cochct and Lacoste, and until America develops players able to beat them, tho Davis Cup will stay in France.”
