(By Telegraph—Per Press Association.) A 601)0 MILE WALK. CAPETOWN, Sept. 8. Cooke and Monson have started on a six thousand miles walk to Cairo. They will endeavour to lower the world’s record over the first thousand miles to Johannesburg. N.S.W. WALKING CHAMPIONSHIP. SYDNEY, Sept. 9. The 50 mile walking championship of New South Wales was decided over tho Peiritli course, and was won by G. Smith in nine hours 24 mins 8 sees.
