Dr Kidson at noon said tho weather conditions over tho Tasman should ho much improved by to-morrow night, after the retreat of tho cyclone. Whether, however, it would warrant the starting of the flight was not for him to say. llis cable to Sydney reads: "Cyclone now centred southeast of Christchurch. Expect strong south-west winds to galos over eastern part of tho Tasman and New Zealand, with cloudy and showery weather. Conditions should have improved considerably by to-morrow evening.
