Both sides threw the hall about in true Varsity style. The next spectacular movement came when Lucas made a clever opening from the loose, the hall being handled by Finlnyson, Harvoy and Finlnyson again, before it was Stopped. Piennar, the fast University wing, looked dangerous when lie intercepted. He punted over Lilburno’s head, H. Osier’s pace getting him to ball, which ho carried on Tor a good try, just evading Ruslihrook by inches. Brink failed to convert.

After a fine forward attack McWilliams shot away from the line-out and with a great run scored at the corner. Nicliolls missed the kick.

Just on half-time Nicliolls, however, landed a penalty goal. There was a fine movement from the kick-off in the second spell, Gray getting the hall from the forwards.
