Australian Press Assn.—United Service THIS AUSTRALIA'S CRUISE. NEW YORK, Sept. 2. All the entertainment for the personel of the warship Australia to-day was informal. The church services were attended and .several private luncheon parties were given by prominent New York citizens. The ship, which was open to the public to-day, was visited hy seven thousand persons. Commander Hyde, on the eve of the vessel sailing, expressed thanks through the press, for the reception here. He said: ‘‘l am extremely grateful to the City, Army nnd Navy officials, and private citizens of New York, who did so much to make our visit a pleasurable one. I regret the shortness of our stiff,- prevented the acceptance or all the kind invitations extended to us.” The Australia sails for Annopolis early to-morrow morning.
