SATURDAY’S RESULTS. international. All Blacks 13, South Africa 5. SENIORS. Excelsiors 17, Uniteds 0. BREEZE SHIELD. Rimu and Boss, draw, 3 each. THIRD GRADE. Excelsiors 17, Burnett’s Face 0. BREEZE SHIELD. Tho final game for tho Breeze Shield between the junior teams of Rimu and Ross was played on Cass Squaro on Saturday afternoon under very unpleasant conditions. Following tho heavy rain of tho previous niflit and morning, the ground was covered with sheets of water, and a good game was out of the question. In spite of this the two teams gave a very fair exposition of wet weather football. Tho handling at times was good and the scene was constantly changing. 1 In the first spell Rimu had much the belter of the play and scored one try by Hownt, to nil. In the second spell the position was reversed’ and Ross had the better of the play, Parker, notching a try. On the day 1 the two teams were fairly equal and tho result, a draw, about fairly sums up the result of tho play. Mr McManaway was referoo.
EXCELSIORS V. BURNETT’S FACE. This third, grade match was played at 1.30 p.nu and resulted in 'an easy win for the home team by 17 points to nil. The game was ft very poor one, tho heavy ground spoiling most attempts at handling, and the visitors were outclassed in the mud scramble. Mr Moore was referee. STARS FAIL TO VISIT. Tho Star senior team game against Kiwis was cancelled, the Stars being unablo to gather a team to travel to Hokitika. EXCELSIORS V. UNITEDS. Played at Greymouth under wet conditions Excelsiors showed a distinct advantage, the backs handling well in the wet and they won by 17 points to nil. For the winners tries were scored by R. King"(2), A. King, and Thompson,'' Stevenson converting ono and kicking a penalty goal. The Excelsiors forwards 'arid backs bad a decided advantage and completed tho season without being defeated.

There was perfect weather, and the attendance was in the' vie iriity'of 5000. Tiie local men : held the upper hand for the ’first spell, but in Hie second the Marlborough hacks were superior, and but for a stubborn defence, would have got through on a number of occasions. Trios wore scored for Nelson liv W. Snow and Max, both being converted by Reed. For Marlborough unconverted tries were got by Hninsell and Sathcrley, and a potted goal by Roberts. MANAAVATU BEAT BUSH. WOODY]LIE, Sept. 1. For the Maiiawatu. v. Bush match there was line but windy weather, and tlie ground was in good order, but there was only a small attendance. Bush undoubtedly had the better of tho game, hut lacked the necessary finish. The final score, after •second rate football, was 24 to 8, in favour of Manawatu.
ASHBURTON V. NORTH OTAGO ASHBURTON, Sept. 2.
Ashburton defeated North Otago at Rugby by 24 points to 9 on Saturday. Ashburton were superior botli in tho backs and in the forwards. The outstanding Ashburton backs wore Russell and Todd, and the oustanding forwards were Dalton, Smith and Pnwson. For Otago the best backs were Campbell and Mclvor and the best forwards Cameron and Pringle. For Ashburton tries were scored by Dalton, Davis, Day, Smith and Clark, Davison kicked a penalty and converted three tries. For Otago AY. Cameron got a try and Pringle and Ward kicked penalties.
SOUTHLAND V. SOUTH CANTERBURY. INVERCARGILL, Sept. 1. Southland to-day defeated South Canterbury hy nine points to eight after an interesting and well contested game. AUCKLAND V. NORTH AUCKLAND AUCKLAND, Sept. 1. In a scrambling game the Auckland Rugby team beat North Auckland hy 23 to 22. AYatennjim scored ten | points for North Auckland. He registered one try, also kicking u penalty goal and converted two tries. AVARATAHS WIN AGAIN. NAPIER, Sept. 1. The New South AVnles Rugby team played tbo third match of their tour against Hawke’s Bay at Napier this afternoon. There was an open, but not altogether an interesting game which ended in favour of the visitors by 1!) points to 6.
'Die visitors early indicated their ability to throw the ball around, and in the first spell, with a breeze and the stm against them, they ran up fourteen points to Hawke's Ray’s 3. The visitors proved the speedier and they enjoyed more than a fair share of luck. Their kicking and handling however were at times weak, but this was counterbalanced by Hawke’s Ray’s inability to take advantage of their opponent’s errors. In the second spell the homo side had much more of the play.
N.S.W. MAN ORDERED OFF. FOR CHARGING A PLAYER. NAPIER, Sept. 2. Tho New South Wales player O’Connor, was ordered from the field in the New South Wales v. Hawke’s Bay match yesterday. His ordering off is explained to be due to the offender deliberately charging into a man who had got rid of the ball, immediately after being cautioned for the same thing. The game at the time was getting willing, and the referee (Mr AY. O’Neill) considered that action was necessary.
Tho spectators though not questioning the wisdom of the referee’s action bore O’Connor no ill will, and heartily applauded him as he left the field.
WAIKATO BEAT AVANGANUT. HAMILTON. Sept. 1. Waikato beat Wanganui Rugby reps hero to-day by 11 points to 8. The forwards were evenly matched, and the AVaikato backs were superior to the visitors. The first half ended: AVaikato 8: AYanganui 5. Anderson and Quin scored for AVaikato, AV. Bourke converting a try. Wanganui were awarded a try for obstruction which McLean converted. Tuck scored in the third quarter for AVaikato and McLean kicked a penalty goal for AYanganui.
