TASMAN FLIGHT.
(Australian Press Association.) SYDNEY, Aug. 27. Smith and Ulm are inundated with work in preparation for the New Zealand flight, ami general correspondence which accumulated during their absence in the west.
The “Southern Cross” is being thoroughly overhauled and. if complete in time may start for New Zealand on Saturday night, but as Ulm stated this afternoon, they cannot guarantee when they will hop off. This depends on circumstances. It possibly will he Saturday or ini ay lie Sunday evening or even Monday. The plane will carry a wreath to be dropped in the sea in memory of ■Aloncrieff and Hood. SET DOWN FOR SUNDAY NIGHT. CHRISTCHURCH. ON MONDAY. (Received this day at 10.40 a.m.) SYDNEY, August 30. It lias now been arranged that the Southern Cross shall hop off with aviators at ten on Sunday night. They expect to arrive at Christchurch by 2.30 on Monday afternoon.
Kings lord Smith hopes to have the belli of the same moon for the return flight.
