(By Telegraph—Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, August 27. Wellington East will have among the candidates two Reformers, the sitting member, .Mr T. Forsyth, and his late (hail-man of election committee, Mr J. J. Clarke. Having definitely expressed their intention of going to a poll, both have refused to submit their names to a party ballot. Mr Clark opened hi.s caniapign at Kilbirnie to-night.

SOUTHERN MAORI SEAT. CHRISTCHURCH. August 28. -Mr tV. Te A. Pitnmn. of Tuahiwi, has consented to bo a candidate for the Southern Maori seat and will stand ns an Independent. The other candidates, Mr H. W. IJru, M.P., and Mr J. C. T. Tikao, of Winmii, arc supporters of the Reform Party. ROSKILL SEAT. WELLINGTON, August 28. The Prime Minister announced this evening that he had been advised that an agreement had been arrived at in respect of the three candidates standing in the Reform interests for the Roskili seat at the forthcoming election, and that Miss Ellen Melville had been selected the official candidate, the other candidates, Messrs Morrison and it. H. Potter, having pledged themselves to support Miss Melville. AUCKLAND, August 28.

Miss Ellen Melville has been chosen as Reform candidate 'for Roskili. There were two other aspirants, Mr E. IT. Rotter, Mayor of M.t. Eden (brother of .Mr V. H. Potter, NI.P., the present member for Roskili, who is standing for the Eedn seat), and Mr R. McK. Morrison. The choice of the candidate was made by the Hon. Vernon Reed, who made a special visit for the purpose as representative of the Prime Minister.
