Corbet and Priignon defeated Austin and Gregory (Fnglnnd) 6-4, 7-5. 7-5.
AN UPSET. (Received this day at )1.0 a.m ' NEW YORK, Aug. 2D. Cummings and Moon’s victory over the French is considered here as a startling upset, particularly since Bororata and He Buzeet yesterday defeated Collins and Higgs, the Englisli pair. The French were erratic, and although occasionally playing dashing tennis, were unable to cope with the steady vigorous attack of the 'Australians.
AVELLTNGTON, August 29. The annual report of the New Zealand Tennis Association shows a profit on the New Zealand championships of £lsl and on the French team’s visit £53. The total profit for the year was £339. The Association now lias a membership of 26,881, an increase of 3,025. Canterbury leads with 4,839, and Auckland next, with 4,002.
