The “Evening News” expresses the opinion that the new royalties on wireless valves will be a minimum of four shillings. It expects that the luxury of super hetrodynes will not be affected because different patents apply. Manufacturers of simple sets claimed that the old fee amounted to the actual value of the whole set. The new price will not apply generally, as a year’s notice must he given to terminate agreements. The Imperial Airways say they do not desire to intrude in an Australian company’s sphere, hut if they are invited to co-operate with a Commonwealth hacking and Airway Board they would Consider * any sound participatory scheme.
