Twelve started, including Frst Acre, who finished last. Won by half a length . 'Time 1.253. August Handicap—Bacchus (9.6) 1, Prince Colugo (7.5) 2, Eden Hall (8.6) 3. Eight strated. A neck each way. Time 2.22. Three and Four Year Old Division— Eugia (8.0) 1, Figure (8.6) 2, Perception (8.0) 3. Sixteen started. Won by half a length. Time 1.14.
MELBOURNE RACING. MELBOURNE, Aug. 26. The Williamstown Steeplechase resulted—Struthblith (10.10) 1, Drinkstone (9.0) 2. Seven started, but only two finished. Won by ten lengths. Time 4.4}. HAWKE’S BAY HUNT. HASTINGS, August 25. The Hawke’s Bay Hunt Club’s win ter meeting was bold in showery wea tber. The course was in fair order, and tlio attendance was fair. The machine put through £8,251, compared with £8,907 at last winter meeting in June, 1928, a decrease of £276. Results : Riverslea Hunters’ Hurdles.—(-1) Pangolin 1, (2) Clnissarto 2, (5) Damon 3. Won by four lengths; two lengths. Time 3.1.
The Park Hurdles.—(s) Royal Elm 1, (3) Rraeman 2, (7) Lieutenant Bill 3. Won by one length ; ten lengths. Time 2.58 1-5. Okawa Maiden Handicap.—Lucky Light 1, (8) Chopin 2, (3) Kinross 3. Won by one length; four lengths. Time 1.4 3-5. Hunt Cup Steeples.—(2) Highway 1, (7) Hnumnrcre 2, (9) Torch 3. Won by a length; twenty lengths. Time 5.20. Abbotsford Handicap.—Kniti 1. <o) Tresham 2, (9) Imperial Spark 3. Won by a length ; a neck. Time 1.19 2-5. Soutra Hunters’ Flat.—(3) Saturn 1, (7) Belgian Queen 2, (1) Blajo 3.
