NEW ZEALAND CHAMPIONSHIPS.

The New Zealand championship boxing tourney concluded last evening, when some spirited contests were witnessed, and notably that between Hume and Knuckey, in the bantamweights, and that between Donovan and Leslie in the featherweights. Leslie’s victory was a very popular one, though a section of the largo audience was disappointed at tlie decision. The results were:—
Flyweight.—Richmond (Otago) beat Knapp (AVellington). Rantam.—Hurne (Wellington) heat Knuckey (Hawke’s Bay). Featherweight.—Leslie (Auckland) beat Donovan (Taranaki). Lightweight.—Fulcher (Otago) beat McKnight- (Frankton). Welterweight.— Semi-final: —’Stone (AVellington) beat Adams (Southland). Fin'al—S-toiio boat Moynilmn (Greymouth).
A 1 idd lewe igh t. —Ti i r nor (Mai‘J borough) beat Nicliol (Southland). Light-heavy. Gardiner (Christchurch) heat Pearce (AVellington). Ilonvywcijfht.— Campbell (North Otago) beat Carlson (AA’anganui). All of the bouts were won on points Tho Jamieson Belt and Cup for the most scientific boxer at the tournament was won by Hurne (AVellington), while Stone (Wellington) holds the Morgan Cup for one year. This trophy was presented by the New Zealand Boxing Association to commemorate the victory of E. Morgan, in the welterweight class at the Olympic Games. AA'TN FOR FAIRHALTj. SYDNEY, Aug. 2G. At the Sydney Stadium, Tommy Fairhall (9.111) outpointed Harry Mason (England) 10.7.
