ANTI-WAR PACT
A (MOVIETONE RECORD. Australian Press Assn.— United Service - . PARTS, Aug. 23. The Peace Treaty will be permanently recorded by a new movietone process. Eight powerful sunlight lamps have been erected in the historic Clock Hale at the Quai d’Orsay. As the representative of each nation appends his signature, seven cameramen will record his movement, while a microphone, synchronised with the camera of the eighth, will take special care to cnoture all the words spoken for the benefit of the audiences of the picture theatres a week later Incidentally, other microphones will capture every syllable for instant broadeasting. It 5 g the work of many men and many nations. ,It springs Iron, the heart of the people, who are all longing for un> which may prevent another great calamity. I believe that, this is a great moral step forward for civilisation. As far as Canada and ourselves are concerned, we really have no need for this Treaty. We have a Treaty written in the. hearts of our people. Mr Mackenzie King (Canadian Premier) said that he shared Mr Kellogg's sentiments. “1 think,” he said, the great prosperity of our respective countries is due in a great measure to the fact that we are not concerned with war, We never have been thinking in terms of war, hut have accepted the normal relations of neighbours, and have done all we could to make them as happy and friendly as possible.”
MR KELLOGG ARRIVES. •Received this dav at 3.50 a.in.s PARTS, Aug. 24. Rumours that Communists were planning a Sacco-Vanzetti demonstration against Air Kellogg resulted in a secret order to speed up the special train in which Mr Kellogg was travelling fnom Havre, accompanied by Mr MaeKenzie King. The train ail'ived at Paris forty minutes ahead of time and drove in at a departure platform. It was quietly received by a few Franco-Amerioan officials, Mr Kellogg being immediately driven off to the Embassy.
