THE WHIRLWIND OF YOUTH ” —TO-NIGHT.

Gareth Hughes, who will perhaps linger in the minds of theatre-goers as “ Sentimental Tommy,” enacts an important role in ‘‘The Whirlwind of Youth,” the motion picture adaptation of A. Hamilton Gibhs’ recent bestseller, “ Soundings,” which comes to the Princess Theatre to-night as a Paramount production. In “ The Whirlwind of Youth,” Hughes plays the part of a country boy who falls desperately in love with Lois Moran, starred as Nancy Hawthorne. For so young a mail, Mr Hughes has had an unusually extensive and colorful theatrical career. In 1910, when only thirteen years of age, he joined another organisation, eventually essaying such roles as liassanio in ‘‘The Merchant of Venice,” and the king in “ Hamlet.” Coming to America in 1913, Gareth appeared with the Ben Greet players. This was followed by a long succession of important stages roles. Entering pictures later, he was a success 'from the start. “The Whirlwind of Youth” was directed by Rowland V. Lee. Donald Keith, Vera Voronina, and Alyce Mills are featured. Charles Lane and Larry Kent both have important parts. A topical and comedy will also be shown to-night.
