CHRISTCHURCH, Aug. 24. j At the Supreme Court the following prisoners were sentenced : j George Creasey, 56, bigamy and false statement, to nine months gaol. It was stated that .prior to committing bigamy, Creasey had been imprisoned six times for failure to maintain his wife at Invercargill. Roland Harold Cole, 32, for indecent assault on a male to tine© months gaol. James Neil, for forgery, to two years probation. Edward Turlington ITaine, breaking, entering and theft to tivo yeais reformative.
JAMES VERSUS MABIN. JUDGMENT FOR DEFENDANT. CHRISTCHURCH, August 24. Judge Adams gave his reserved judgment to-dav in the ease of Henry Digby James, of Greymouth, printer, versus Edward Ernest Ba.vly Mabin, of Nelson, bank manager, claiming £2,500. The Judge decided that the statement of claim did not disclose a cause of action, and awarded costs and disbursements to defendant. The case was heard on June 29th.
