DAIRY STOCK SALE. There was considerable interest taken iiv the sale of dairy stock .which took place at Herepo yesterday when the whole of the herd comprising 50 head of cows and heifers, the property of Mr W. Berry, were submitted to public auction by Messrs W. Jeffries and Co. Buyers were in attendance from Barrytown in the north to Wailio in the south. As a result every pen offered met with spirited competition. Confidence in the future* of the butter and cheese market was a considerable factor in assisting the demand, added to which the stock were yarded in excellent condition. A record was made in the prices for heifers when two first calvers.botli grnde Jerseys made the top price of £l3, after spirited competition. Third and fourth cows made to £l3 12s fid. A pen of fat wethers made £2 Is 3d each. A large quantity of farm implements made market prices. The following is a list of the cows and heifers sold. Second calf JerseyShorthorn cows £ll 12s Gd. £l2 10s. .£lO 10s, £9 2s Gd, £lO 12s 6d. £ll 10s. £9 17s fid, £l2 12s Gd. £9 10s. Third calf cows £9 2s Gd, £lO 12s Gd, £l3 12s Gd, £H, £H 12s od, £l3 - Fourth calf cows '£ll ss, £lO 15s, £lO, £ll ss, £9 7s Gd, £9. Fifth calf cows £9 2s Gd., £ll ss. £8 ss, £ll 12s Gd £S 2s Gd. First calf heifers £l3, £9 os, £7 10s. Two year old heifers r.w.b. £6 ss. Aged cows (springers) £9- 15s. Two year old steers £o 10s. 20 fat wethers at £2 Is 3d each.
