The British Government has enquired, through the Norwegian Mission, of the possibility of sending a warship to transfer the L 55 bodies to England. The Norwegian Government was informed that the Soviet did not object to the arrival of a warship belonging to a friendly nation or British merchantman, but could not consent to a British warship entering Soviet tern- 1 toriul waters.
