FOURTH DAY. There was a fair attendance at the Princess Theatre this morning for the fourth day of the Competitions. The results as far as are available to-day arc:— WEDNESDAY MORN TNG. Air A loss praised the violin playing, and in congratulating the winner, stated he was the makings of a good player. The test piece was “Dream Thoughts,” composed by the judge, Afr Aloss.

Air Bush again spoke of the defects in reading in relation to the prepared work. There was a want of emphasis, and wrong stressing, and the vowels should sound out. Ho also announced a special prize for improvers in elocutionary work, and this i« proceeding at the Theatre this afternoon.

The plavettes at the first demonstration concert will be “Between the Soup and the Savoury,” and “The Old Bull” on Thursday night, and the scene from “Alitlsninmer Night’s Dream” and “The Palmist” on Tuesday night.

Patrons from Ross arc advised to Hook seats for Tuesday night’s concert, as the winners from Ross will he appearing in that evening’s demonstration by request.

The Greymouth performers will he appearing chiefly on Thursday night.

Heats for Tuesday’s concert are in demand already by country visitors.
