In the Supreme Court, Ceorgo Creasey on charges of bigamy < and of making a false declaration under the Marriage Act pleaded guilty and was remanded till Friday for sentence. BURGLAR SENTENCED. GISBORNE, August 21. The Supreme Court opened before Justice MacGregor with an unusually small calendar. Three young natives, Charlie Warde, George Taiapa and Henare Temaro for burglary at Tikitiki came up for sentence. Taiapa as ringleader, was sentenced to the Borstal Institution for four years and Warde and Temaro similarly for three years each. INVERCARGILL, August 21. The Supreme Court opened before Justice Ostler, who said he could not congratulate the district on the absence of crime, as though there was only one case for the Grand Jury there were six prisoners for sentence. He favourably commented on the absence of sexual oases. v Benjamin John Manah, lor breaking, and entering, two years’ probation. James Brown Doake and I’rancis Augustus Stemps, three charges ot breaking, entering and theft, two years probation and to make restitution of £6O. Ralf Swan, postal official, for stealing 28s from letters, two years’ probation. For serious breaches of probation. Albert Sharp was ordered to be detained for a period not exceeding four years for reformative treatment. Theodore Archibald Hausen, railway clerk, at Queenstown, for theft of £4O was granted probation for two years, conditional on making, restitution and taking out a prohibtion order. Neale Keith Coulter, for thefts at Palmerston North, three years’ reformative, concurrently with sentence he is now serving.
