Australian Press Assn.—United Service (Received this day at 8 a.m.) BRIDGEPORT (Connecticut), Aug. 20. Grime weighed 1281bs and Smith ,127Vlbs. In the first round Grime staggered tlie veteran Smith with a series of rights. Then the second round Grime took easily with left hooks and elusive dodging attack employing a long left and short right. In the third round Grime won the applause of the crowd by nearly outboxing Smith. In the fourth round Smith got under Grime’s open defence and drove him about tlie ring with rights and lefts. For tlie fifth round Grime’s defence failed and Smith opened a cut over the Australian’s right "eye with a flecking left. The sixth round was even. Tn the seventh round Grime floored Smith briefly with a right. The eighth and ninth rounds were even, Grime outboxing Smith but the latter landing enough blows’to even the score. In tlie tenth round Smith oatpunched Grime and won the round and tlie judges decision which was unpopular with the crowd and newspaper men present Grime, however, showed the need of further practice and the accomplishment of more effective defence tactics The fight was fast, bloodless and very nearly even with a consensus of opinion apparently favouring Grime.
