COAL TRADE. Australian Press Assn.—United Service (Received this day at 10.15 a.m.) LONDON, August 15. Conversations have proceeded durng the past six weeks between leading eonl owners with a view to formulating a national selling scheme for the export of coal. It is hoped to avoid non-organised price-cutting on behalf of British coal exporters competing for foreign nations. It is understood the plan is proceeding satisfactorily, but owners will not meet again until September. SHIPPING PROPOSAL. , (Received this day at 10.40 a.m.) LONDON, August 15. The Peninsula Branch Line, commencing with the Boron on oth December, will despatch one-class steamers to Australia, via Suez and the Cape alternately, both outward and homeward. The vessels on the Suez route will call at Malta, Port Said, Colombo, Fremantle, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sidney, and Brisbane. The voyage from London to Fremantle will occupy only 35 days, saving three day’s, and Sydney to London, via Suez, 49, saving 10 days.
