Australian Pross Assn.—United Service MURDERED BY BLACKS. (Received this clay at 10.15 a.m.) ADELAIDE, Aug. 14. Fred Brooks, aged 60 years, was murdered by Blacks of Central Australia in Alice Springs area. His head was partly buried in a rabbit burrow. Aborigines told Brooks’ black boys to say nothing. The murdered man left Alice Springs on June 13th. on a dingo scalping expedition. ; EX-NEW ZEALANDER’S DEATH. (Deceived this day at 10.15 a.m.) SYDNEY, Aug. 14. Obituary.—Mr William H. Brown, editor of tlio Agricultural Gazette, Department of Agriculture of New South Wales, aged fifty. Ho was formerly in New Zealand with the Christchurch "Press,” and North Otago "Times,” and was held in high esteem within and without the Government service. There were four hundred mourners at the graveside. MOERATvI’S hands. SYDNEY, Aug. 14. 'Die cooks and stewards of tho Mocraki now in the Fiji service, have been paid off and arc returning to New Zealand. A number of firemen have already returned to Now Zealand, members of the Australian Unions being engaged.
