WEST COAST v. SOUTHL AND. This game played at Greymouth on Saturday resulted in a draw, 11 points each, after a fast interesting game. In the first half each side scored a converted try and in the second half both teams added two unconverted tries. The play in the second half especially, was fast and open and the game was very attractive to watch. Coast had the better of the play in the .closing stages of the game, hut were not able to drive their advantage to a winning point. For Southland tries were scored by Muir, Lee and Walker, Laing converting one,, while for Coast, Fell,. -Mclntosh and Tainui scored, J. Ring converting one. Mr W. Williams was referee.

After an interesting gaiiie during which many bright patches of Rugby were displayed by the lads, Greyinouth ran out winners hy 17—5. COAST PRIMARY SCHOOLS. TARANAKI BEAT HAWKE’S BAY. A POOR, DISPLAY. NEW PLYMOUTH, Aug. 12. By five points to three, the Taranaki reps defeated Hawke’s Bay, before an attendance'of six thousand. It was a poor display of Rugby. Hawke’s Bay should have won, having a territorial advantage throughout, hut they were unable, to finish oft tlieir movements.
