PARLIAMENT
(By Telegraph—Per Press Association.) THE COUNCIL. WELLINGTON, August 10. The Legislative Council met at 2.30 p.ni. yesterday. Sir E. Stout intimated his intention to introduce the New Zealand Citizens’ Bill. The Captive Birds Shooting Prohibition Bil lwas put through the filial stages and passed. British Nationality and Status of Aliens in New Zealand Bill and Hanmer Crown Leases Bill were reported from committees without amendment, and put through tho final stages and passed. The Council adourned at 3.7 p.ni. until 21st August. THE HOUSE. In the House, the afternoon sitting was occupied with a discussion on reports of Public Health and Tourist Departments, which were finally laid on the table. At tho evening sitting, the Licensing Amendment Bill (dealing with the New Zealand wine industries) was read a second time, after division, by 30 to 24. Surveyors Registration Bill, Surveyors Institute Amendment Bill, Statutory Land Changes Registration Bill, Noxious Weeds Bill were committed, read a third time and passed. Tho House rose at 12.40 a.m. till 2.30 p.ni.
