Borg’s first quarter mile took four minutes 58 secs. Frank Moody knocked out Milligan of Glasgow in the first round. The English champion Cullett also re-entered for the single sculls winning a Repechage heat. Borg will not start in the hundred metres but lie is in such brilliant form it is difficult to see anybody else win the four hundred metres. Galitzen, the American, and Simaika the Egyptian, qualified for the final. In the second heat, of the springboard diving, the Australian, Morris, did not qualify.
