GREAT FLOATING DOCK. EN ROUTE FOR SINGAPORE. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Aug. 2. Tho great floating dock for the Singapore naval base has arrived at Port Said in two parts. Tho dock will begin its passage through tho Suez Canal at dawn on Saturday. The passage will take four days, hut shipping will only bo stopped for twelve hours at a time, since the dock will wait at Kantara, where the canal is widened, and will afterwards pass through Ismailia, and tho bitter lakes, where ships will bo allowed to pass. Ten tugs will he employed. The passage will he a delicate operation, as there will bo only fifteen feet to spare on each side in the narrow part of the Canal. BRITISH PAR LIAMENT. RUGBY, Aug. 2. The Prime Minister announced in the House of Commons that the new session of Parliament will open on November 6th. BRITISH INDUSTRIES FAIR. RUGBY, Aug. 2. . I,css than 10,(100 square feet of stand space remains to ho allocated for the heavy section of the British Industries Fair to be held in Birmingham next February. This is out of a total area of 400,000 square feet.
