EVERYBODYS PICTURES. LON CHANEY—TO-NIGHT. Another special Lon Chaney picture is due to be shown at the Princess Theatre to-night. In this one, ‘The Unknown,” a Metro-G'oldwyn-Mnyor special production, Chaney is said to give the performance of his career. The theme of the picture centres around the lives of the members of a circus troupe, of which Lon Chaney as tho “Armless Wonder," is the star performer, with Norman Kerry as the ‘strong man,’ and charming Joan Crawford as the proprietor’s daughter. These three distinguished favourites provide tho tense drama', mystery, deep sacrifice and rrfmnnce with which this gripping production abounds. Tod Browning directed. THE STORY IN BRIEF. Alonzo the Armless, star performer of Zanzi’s Spanish circus, loves Nanon Zanzi. She is grateful to have him as a friend, because the. hands of other men, always seeking to caress her beauty, have become loathsome to her. But Alonzo is a prowling shadow by night, and when Zanzi discovers his dual identity, Alonzo kills him. Nanon sees a deformed hand at her father’s throat; therefore Alonzo decides on an operation before asking her to he his wife. While Alonzo is convalescing after the operation. Nanon falls in love with Malabar, tho strong man of the troupe. On returning to Madrid and learning this, Alonzo plans a terrible revenge which, however, is frustrated, and Alonzo meets the dc-ath lie 'ad planned for Malabar.

Further chapters of “Tho Collegians,” and a good comedy will also bo shown.
