THE HOUSE. WELLINGTON, August 4. The House met at 2.30 p.m. yesterday. The Prime Minister made a statement regarding the proposed merger of wireless and cable companies, the principle of which the New Zealand Government had approved. The afternoon sitting was occupied with a discussion on the report of the Public Health Department. At the evening session the second readings of the Property Law Amendment Bill, Divorce and Matrimonial Causes Bill. Hanmer Crown Leases Bill were agreed to on the voices and the House rose at 11.40 till 2.30 p.m. on Tuesday.
