MAGISTRATE’S COURT
THURSDAY, AUGUST 2nd. (Before W. Meldrura, Esq., S.M.) CHILDREN’S COURT. At a sitting of the Children’s Court nine Native children charged with breaking telegraph and telephone insulators at Arahura of a value of £6 10s, the property of the Post and Telegraph Department, pleaded guilty. They were admonished and the parents were ordered to make good the damage done. LICENSING ACT. An offender found after hours on licensed premises (Occidental Hotel) was convicted and ordered to pay costs 10s. DEBT CASES. Judgment for plaintiff by default was given in the following debt cases. C. T. Wool house (Mr Pilkington) v. J. Fluety, claim £4- os and costs 2os 6d.
Stephens Bros. (Mr Pilkington) v. Arthur Jones, claim £l2 13s lid and costs £2 16s 6d.
Amos Dowell (Mr Pilkington) v. H. A. McMinn, cla int £lB 6s 9d and costs £2 16s 6d.
Wm. Lyes (Mr Pilkington) v. Pine Timbers Ltd., claim £l2 2s 3d and costs £2 14s 6d.
Park and Murdoch (Mr Park) v. Ed. O’Fee, claim £5 6s and costs £1 11s 6d.
Amos Dowell (Mr Pilkington) v. Basil Gibbons, judgment summons. After bearing a statement of liis financial position by the debtor no order was made.
