Daniel Darwin Coyle, 41, a letter sorter in the Post Office, pleaded guilty at the court to-day to theft of three letters, containing in all £t ss. He had been employed as a. sorter for the past twenty years. He attributed his lapse to a severe illness with attendant financial obligations. Accused was found guilty and was sentenced to six months, promising to keep away from New Zealand after the sentence was served. MO A BONES DISCOVERED. DANNEVIRKE. Aug. 1. Three sets of inoa bones have been discovered on the property of Mrs P. (\ Wall, at Teuri. The manager of the property, J. B. Thomson, was engaged in ploughing operations when the horse became hogged. In digging to free the animal Thomson struck what he thought to ho a log, hut a closer inspection showed it was a large moa hone. Further examination unearthed three sets of leg hones, and it is thought there may yet he further skeletons’ remains.
