WESTPORT, July 30. Advice as received to-night that the Nelson Rugby Union, by seven votes to six, lias decided to bring the Seddon Shield to AVestport for the match against Buller on August 25. Hitherto tho matches have been played on the holder’s ground. Westport is to have a surfeit of representative matches in the week ending August 18, all the codes having fixtures that week—the League against England oil Tuesday, August 14th, tlio Rugby Union against Southland on Thursday 16th, and the Buller Soccer Association for the Peter Dawson Cup against West Coast on Saturday, August 18 th. WESTLAND SUB-UNION. -MONDAY, JULY 30tli, 1928. The Sub-Union met at 8 p.m. Present:—Messrs H. AI. Coulson (President), C'utbusb,' -MeAlanaway, AlcGregor. Breeze, Williams, Dowell, Stafford and Heennn. Referees’ reports were read and received. Permission was granted senior cadets to play Grey mouth cadets at Grc.vmouth on August 11th. The primary school team Was granted permission to play at Ross on Saturday. FIXTURES FOR SATURDAY. School v. Excelsiors at 1.30 pan. (Mr E. W. Heennn). Arnhura v. United (Greyinouth) at Hokitika, at 3 pan. It was resolved to ask the AVest Coast Rugby Union to play liome and home match seniors at Hokitika on Saturday, August 4th. JUNIOR. ONE-ROUND COAI.PETITION Six nominations were received and tho draw resulted as follows: Aug. 4.—Rimu v. Arahura at Arnhiirn (Air W. Steele). Aug. 4.—Kokntahi v. Excelsiors at Kokntahi. Aug. 11.—Ross v. Kiwis, at Hokitika. All finals to be played at Hokitika, the winners of the competition to hold the Breeze Shield. A cup was presented by Air AY. Wogan for primary school games, State v. Convent, three games. In connection with the disqualification of J. Griffiths, the life disqualification was reduced to five years: The report of the delegation to Greymoutli was received and a vote of thanks passed. A vote of thanks was also passed to Air AY. Newman for placing a car at the service of the deputation. The Treasurer’s report was read and received and accounts as submitted were passed for payment.
