It must also he remembered that Organised Labour in the Dominions will always bo opposed to a broad emigration policy. These (unpleasant facts merely mean that there is lacking the political leadership in Britain and in the Dominions which will force the people to think in terms of centuries, instead of months. The question of migration remains a personal one. LONDON, July 30. The Daily Express says its advice is: Go to the Dominions without a qualm if you are in a job which promises no outlet. The Empire in the futuro, ns in the past, will mainly be built up by individuals with stout hearts and a sense of high adventure. LONDON, July 30. The Times political correspondent says: -Sir W. Joynson Hicks, the Home Minister’s speeches are perhaps taken very seriously in England. The correspondent adds significantly: But the general feeling in the Conservative Party is that Ministers should show some sense of Cabinet solidarity before they embark on an autumn campaign. SERIOUS EXPLOSION. LONDON, July 30. Advices from Lodz say thirty are dead and three hundred injured by an explosion which occurred of benzine tanks causing widespread havoc and panic. i FATAL PICTURE FIRE. (United Service.) IReceived this day at 8 a.m.) NEW YORK, July 30. At the end of a motion picture show at the State Prison Farm, Houston, Texas, before sixtv-five convicts, one threw a cigarette in a box of films causing an explosion and fire. In a panic, five convicts were probably fatally burned and twenty seriously burned. Three escaped in a hail of rifle fire. One guard was trampled on and will probably die. All doors but one were locked and this added to the panic.
