TOO II SLIPS BADLY.
“ The action of the Council of Toe II in excluding Unitarian padres, on the ground tliat they are not Christians of the type approved as genuine by the directors, mainly clerical, of that admirable institution, is bound to have the effect of weakening the excluder and strengthening the excluded,” writes Dr L. P. Jacks, in the Inquirer.” “ One views that effect with mixed feelings. Whatever satisfaction one may find in contemplating the strengthened position of the excluded party is moro than off-set by regret that Toe H, a movement otherwise so well adapted to the needs of the time, should have weakened its witness to the thing of the spirit by the note of theological exclusiveness. Such a. note, sounded at the present day, cannot fail to ad as a serious inhibition to the usefulnes r of Toe H on which all its well wishers, of whom 1 am one of the heartiest, will look with sorrow.”
