Australian Press Assn. —United Service \LIGHT AEROPLANE DEMAND. LONDON, July 26. The “Evening News” discloses that since the Schneider. Cup, the success of Hinkler’s flight to Australia, and Lady Bailey’s flight to the Cape, there has been a big increase in the demand for light aeroplanes, British exports of which are now leading the world. AFRICAN AIR TRAVEL. (Received this day at 11.25 a.m.) London; July 20. Sir Alan Cobliam has flown *5.099 miles on special Empire trips since 1924. His recent survey has convinced him that the whole African continent could be covered by aeroplanes with one hundred per cent regularity. He prophesied that within a year it would be possible to write a letter tq Central Africa from London and receive :> reply within three weeks.

A message 'from Rockford, Illinois, states that Bart Hassell and Parker Cramer got a perfect start on a nonstop flight for Stockholm this morning, but the overloaded ’plane became unmanageable before one hundred miles were covered and it crashed in a coi n field The machine was ruined, but neither of the aviators were harmed.
