The following alterations to Saturday’s announced programme are made:— The Schools match for the Newman Shield, Grey v. Hokitika will take place at 3 p.m„ not 1.30 p.m., owing to the travelling teams request. The Arahura-Excelsior third grade match will be played at- Arahura at 1.30 p.m , ALTERATION TO JUNIOR, REPS. For the Junior rep game Hokitika v. Grey on Cass Square on Saturday, Herring and R. Parker have notified that they are unavailable. Their places will be Allied by B. Morel (Ivokatahi) and S. Qgilvie (Rirnu). Perliam (Kiwi) is the emergency back.

To-day, in perfect weather and in the presence of an attendance of 9000 people, St. Patrick’s College defeated Wellington College by TO points to 8 in their annual Rugby match, after an exciting game. At half time the scores were five all. Mefites scored both tries for St. Pats, and Condon converted both. Goal and Hislop scored for Wellington College, Temoana converting one try. be. Pat’s winning try came very near the final whistle. The game was mostly a forward one. in which St. Pats had an undoubted advantage. During the whole of the first half, when tliov scored, Wellington were on the defensive. This fixture has l>een played yearly since the year 1885. with only two breaks and forty-four matches in all, have been contested. Of these* two have been drawn, and to-day’s result leaves honours even with 21 victories apiece.
