A.R.C. STAKES REDUCED.' AUCKLAND, July 24,
The Auckland Racing Club has decided to reduce its stakes for the coming season to £61,000, a reduction of £2OOO. The Mitchelson Cup is reduced from £2OOO to £ISOO, and various other races by smaller amounts. The Club has decided to revert to eight races a day at its spring meeting. The classic races, for which nominations close next June, are reduced altogether by two thousand pounds.
