AIRMAN FOUND DEAD
(British Official Wireless)
RUGBY, July 23,
Warwick, a London barrister, who has been missing since the first day of the air race round Britain for the King’s Cup, was found dead to-day. His body was half hidden by heather. It was found by a. shepherd boy on Broad Law Hill, between Peebles and Selkirk.
Warwick’s aeroplane smashed and piled up on tho hillside and was some distance from the body. Broad Law lies directly In a straight line between Newcastle and Renfrew. Tho airman was dead right in his reckoning when the disaster overtook him. He was passing over mountainous country that offered little chance of safe landing. It is possible ho had been searching for a ground to make a forced landing, but had been compelled to continue, until his machine was forced down.
