LYONS’ NEXT FLIGHT. * LOS ANGELES, July 21. • Captain Lyons, the Pacific flier, has announced his plans for a London to Los Angeles flight in the spring of 1929. He declared that local residents have' offered the capital and a special
tri-motored plane will be used, which will be constructed here. Captain Lyon will be navigator And the British (tiers William Lancaster and Airs Miller will he pilots. According to the present plans, they will make a single stop at New York for fuel, and will then continue to Los Angeles. PACIFIC CABLE. VANCOUVER, July 20. Canada is relinquishing all of her interest in the Pacific Cable, the Major* Provision Cable, and the W ireless Merger negotiated ia England. At Ottawa and London the announcement of the details, will be simultaneous, : probably on Monday. Canada gets a generous cash consideration. It is understood that tlie proposition will be eagerly accepted, as there is no prospect of profit. The other provisions of the merger affecting Canada have Hot been disclosed. MR HOOVER AND BABIES.
