For some little time past the West j Coast Rugby League have been nego- j tiating for the purchase of ten acres of land at Coal Creek, known as the old Chinese gardens, with the object of making it into a football ground. The purchase was completed yesterday. Bishop West-Watson accompanied by Mrs West-Watson will arrive in Hokitika to-morrow. The Bishop will preach at All Saints at 11 a.m. on Sunday and conduct a confirmation at 7 p.m., and will also preach at Koiterangi at 3 p.m. The Bishop and his wife propose to go south to Waiho on Monday and hope to get as far as Bruce Bay, returning to Ross for Sunday week. The Medical Superintendent of Greymouth Hospital reported that there were 39 male and 33 female patients in hospital at the beginning of the month, 45 males ancl 47 females had been admitted, 37 males and 34 females discharged, and 3 females -had died, leaving 47 males and ,43 females at present in hospital.
