ADDINCTON STOCK SALE. REEF PRICES IMPROVE. CHRISTCHURCH, July. 18. At the Addington market to-day the entries were moderate in sheep while pigs were numerous. Beef prices improved. Fat Cattle.—There were 550 forward, mostly of a plain sort! The prices slightly improved. Steers sold: Heaw £l7 10s to £l9 10s, extra. £23 7s Gd, prime £ls 10s to £l6 15s, others £lO 10s to £ls. Heifers sold: Rest £ll to £l4 17s 6d; medium £8 10s to £lO 10s; light £7 os to £8 ss. Cows sold : Best £lO to £l4 17s Gd; others £5 os to £9 10s.

Fat Sheep.—There was a small entry hut the quality was fair. Prices were on a par with those of last week. Best wethers sold from 39s lOd to 48s lOd; medium 32s to 38s lOd ; light 28s to 31s lOd. Best ewes sold at 35s to 39s lOd; medium 30s to 34 s 9d; light 25s to 29s lOd.

Store Sheep and Lambs.—The entry was a nondescript lot, with one or two exceptions. Wether lambs sold from 22s 7d to 24s 7d; ewe lambs, best to 34s lOd, others to 245. There was only a small entry of adult sheep, and nothing of a high standard was forward. The liest four, six and eight tooth three-quarterbred ewes sold to 43s 9d: ordinary 21s to 31s; best hnlfbred owes to 335; aged ewes 14s Gd to 18s. The best wethers sold from 31s to 36s ; others 22s to 295.

Fat Lambs.—There was a yarding of 300 forward, only end-of-lino lots being included, and only the butchers were operating, as the freezing works are closing down now. Best lambs sold from 31s 'id to 33s Gd ; prime 28s to 31s; light 26s to 27s Gd; unfinished 25s to 25s lOd. Pigs.—There was a large entry of pork, and prices wore firm. In bacon, there also was a large entry, and the market- was irregular. Choppers sold' from £3 15s to £6 8s Gd; light bacon £3 5s to £3 12s; medium £3 15s to £4 2s Gd ; heavy £4 5s to £5 ss. The average price was 7d per lb. Light porkers fetched 41s to 425, medium 43s to 48s, heavy 50s to 595. The average price was 7Jd per lb. Of wcaners there was a small yarding, and prices were slightly better.
