THE HOUSE. WELLINGTON, July 17
The House met at 2.30 p.m. Tjlie Speaker announced the Adel rcss-in-Roply would he presented to His Excellency the Governor-General at 11.5 a.m. on Thursday. A number of petitions were presented praying for the abolition of the cash on delivery parcels system. Nine Bills were introduced dealing with Educational Reserves (consolidation), Institute of Surveyors Registration of Suveyors; Leasing of Crown Lands at Hunmer; Orchard and Garden Diseases (consolidation) • Registration of Land; Magistrates and Justices of Peace (consolidation); Mental Defectives Amendment and Municipal Corporations. The report of the Royal Commission on Samoa was tabled by Hon. No-sworthy, which produced a. debate lasting all the afternoon and was resumed at 7.30.
At 11.35 p.m. a motion that the report lie on the table was agreed- to 011 the voices.
The following Bills were introduced by the Governor’s message and read a first time:—Rabbit Nuisance Bill: Property Law Amendment Bill; Christ College Law Vesting Bill. The House rose at 11.40 p.m. till 2.30 p.m. on Wednesday.
